EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT’S BREAKFAST BRIEFING ON

CO2 STANDARDS FOR PASSENGER CARS: HOW CAN EUROPE POWER LOWER CARBON TRANSPORT?

Wednesday, 20 June 2018, 08:00-09:30

Member’s Salon, European Parliament

With the EU currently reviewing the way we fuel and power our cars, setting new standards that aim to reduce CO2 emissions across Europe will be key. As nearly 80% of European cars sold in 2030 will be equipped in an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), the EU legislation ought to consider how we can best harvest CO2 savings from this technology. The event will discuss a range of solutions available throughout the entire value-chain, which could help in making new cars cleaner and more efficient.

 Confirmed Speakers:

1.       Jozo Radoš, Member of the European Parliament and Shadow Rapporteur on the CO2 standards file

2.       Willemien Terpstra, Chair of EFOA Board and Director at LyondellBasell

3.       John Cooper, Director General, Fuels Europe

4.    Dr Paul Greening, Emissions & Fuels Director, ACEA

5.   Filip François, Policy Officer for Road Transport at DG Climate Action, European Commission
